Our USFW regional manager called last week and told us we were getting a golden eagle who had been injured in a vehicle collision near Tucson. Three hundred miles later, the bird arrived at Liberty and is scheduled for surgery to try to save its wing. As always, crossed fingers are in order...
Speaking of golden eagles, Peggy Cole is training to handle Apache, our long time resident golden, and is enjoying her new friend!
And each day now, Phoenix, the golden who came in as a juvenile years ago with a broken wing and aspergillosis, continues on his flight training program, aiming toward joining out education exhibit.
